Custom Playmat

Get a high quality playmat with a custom image on it! Mats usually take around one week to be printed. Note that our manufacturers won’t print images that are subject to copyright. Please email your image to [email protected] BEFORE paying for your order and we will check if it’s okay. We will also check that your image meets the printing requirements (see below) and get back to you via email if there are any issues.

Custom Image Requirements

• 150 – 300 dpi
• RGB format
• 3mm bleed

dpi Explained

dpi stands for “dots per inch” and is roughly equivalent to “pixels per inch” for a digital file. You will get the best quality result if you provide an image that has 300 pixels per inch.

RGB Format Explained

RGB stands for “Red Green Blue” and indicates how the colours are assigned in the digital file. This is by far the most common format, so if you are not sure what format your image is, it is most likely RGB. The other main option is CMYK (which you don’t want!).

3mm Bleed Explained

When an image is printed on a playmat, it is printed on a larger size mat and then cut to size. The cutting process can sometimes be off by a couple of mm. If the image is printed to be exactly the same size as the mat and the cut is off by 1mm, then there will be a strip down the side of your mat with nothing printed on it – this will look terrible! To avoid this the image is printed slightly larger than the size of the mat. This guarantees no unsightly blank strips, but means that the edge of the image you provide will be cut off (the edge that gets cut off is known as the bleed). Just make sure no important features (eg. text) are printed in the outside 3mm of the image and it will be just fine.
