The iconic US Air Force P-51D Mustang used a Hamilton Standard propeller in its original configuration, but Aeroproducts propellers soon replaced them. The version designed this way was given the new P-51K name and deployed to the Pacific Theater. The speedy fighters, P-51K and P-51D were perfect for long-range missions, such as escorting heavy bombers or attacking the enemy in their homeland. Known for their outstanding abilities, several camera-equipped P-51D aircraft were used as reconnaissance aircraft categorized as F-6Ds.
