In 1984 after experimenting with various short films Buddy Giovinazzos debut feature American Nightmares slowly crawled its way into the sub-basement underground of fringe cinema. The film would quickly establish itself as a shockingly grim depiction of a Vietnam vet whos downward spiral takes the viewer on an unforgettable nihilistic journey to unimaginable depths of horror. The film would eventually find itself in the distribution ranks with legendary low budget maniacs Troma Entertainment who would retitle the film as Combat Shock.
